he whispered,
sitting side by side,
fingers gliding through the white piano keys,
his blue eyes sinking into her dark brown eyes.
Last night they had-had a fight,
he yelled, ”you treat me so bad!”,
She screamed, “you make me so mad”,
things were broken,
incessant yelling,
then she rushed into his strong embrace,
he gave her an epic sailor kiss,
melting into her.
Now she’s running in her secret garden,
he calls out for her,
but she’s a kid,
she always wants to play,
he wishes she would grow up,
but loves her anyway,
and the dawn creeps closer,
she creeps slowly behind him,
then she runs and jumps on his back,
planting a kiss on his head,
laughing,
he twirls her around,
another kiss.
It’s been said over and over,
their hearts beat as one,
he sits silently on the sand,
she sinks into the ocean,
at first his heart leaps,
think she got lost in the waves,
but she always comes back,
how not to feel this way,
coming up like a mermaid,
getting around the pain that is to love,
she loves him as does he.
His name inscribed in her chest,
in her mind,
he finds solace there,
morning breaks,
and she’s conducting the symphony,
the white piano waits for him,
a song,
lovers quarrel,
a flower vase broken,
she’s in bare feet,
he sweeps off her feet,
“Won’t you dance for me?”, he asks with a smile,
she’s on top of the white piano,
dance,
dance,
dance,
she twirls and twirls in her blue dress,
spinning so fast,
and when she comes to a stop,
he’s no longer there.
The morning maid says,
“Miss, what are you doing?”,
she replies,
“I was dancing for him”,
“Mr. Ocean, again?”
“Yes”,
“Miss, he’s gone. He lays to rest at shore”,
“He was here! I swear!”
the curtains close,
and the audience applauds,
she was pretending,
and he sat in the front row,
and a single white rose falls on stage,
at feet,
Frank Ocean walks out the auditorium.
She spins and spins,
she could see the light,
it was deep within her now,
it was so blue,
then the letter came,
a scarlet letter,
with a familiar name,
Frank Ocean it read.
